Here you'll find a small collection of things currently of interest at IGN.com and, more specifically, their message board system, located here. I update it pretty infrequently, but if you show up every now and then you'll find something new.
Links to users are coded in that specific
user's colors. Links to threads are coded in dark blue bold font.
All other links appear as normal light-blue text.
What's the Buzz Right Now?
9/9/03 - I'm archiving a bunch of my old arguments from
IGN and elsewhere in a new section I call "Thoughts".
Check it out here!
4/16/02 - New Forum Pics section... it's going
to be popular.
3/26/01 - Many people are discussing the issue of the IGNCube interview with Perrin Kaplan and Jim Merrick being cut. Among what is missing is information regarding Rare's relationship with Nintendo, Zelda, and the development of a Pikmin sequel. IGN has gone on the record saying that their reasons for the removal of these portions of the interview lie in NCL's zero tolerance policy concerning "harmless" jokes from company reps - according to NCL, these jokes often turn into rumors and false belief (which does happen quite often). However, if you want to find an unedited version of the interview, you can do so elsewhere on the internet...
My Username on the Boards is OtherSteveGCN.
I'm a moderator, and that means that I've been asked to help keep the boards in order for IGN while I post. This means that I have the ability to lock, edit, delete, and ban when necessary. If you think you need assistance concerning any of these things, you can contact me as detailed below.
I post pretty much whenever I feel like it, and I usually check the boards at least 3-4 times a day (on busy days) just to see what's going on. If you need me, you can try to send me a private message, or, if I'm not around, you can e-mail me at othersteve@othersteve.com.

"The Prophet"
Long have the IGN Boards awaited the presence of a prophet, one who can see the future and reveal its secrets. Now it seems that this man has finally arrived. His name is ArbitraryName - and he is certainly wise.
I have dedicated a page to this man. Click here to enter the Shrine of all Names that are Arbitrary.

More Quotes
"Every game developer is shooting for nothing but realism and flashiness...
...what does realism and flashiness have to do with fun?
The same old genres and development methods still work in America,
but they won't interest the more discriminating gamers"
-Hiroshi Yamauchi
"A delayed game will eventually come out. A bad game is bad forever."
-Shigeru Miyamoto
"Microsoft is going after performance only, and does not understand that the game is played with
software... We do not consider Microsoft to be our competitor." -Hiroshi Yamauchi
"if we let them get away with one nipple, there will be nothing but nipples, everywhere."
"Nipples on the icons, nipples in sigs, nipples in your cereal bowl in the morning."
"Yes sir'ee bob, it'll be a non-stop nipple-fest on the boards." -Tal-IGN
"All you do in Zelda is run around and slash things? Damn that must be what
I was doing wrong all
this time. Shoot maybe if I wasn't trying to figure out all of those puzzels
i would have gotten
through the game quicker." -mildewproduction,

"There is a new Snowboarding move called the Xbox.
It's when you fly high into the air, do a lot of cool tricks,
and then moments later fall flat on your face." - mildewproduction
"Girls Gone Wild is nothing compared to Mary Kate and Ashley Olson. Until you've seen those girls
gone wild, you haven't lived." -Fran-IGN
If we catch bin Laden...
"They should cut off all his fingers, toes, ears with a butterknife. Then pull out each
individual tooth and pull out all of his hair by hand. Then make him stare at the sun so he can
go blind. Then skin his body very slowly with a cheese grater, but make sure you do it so he
doesn't die, because you still have to pour salt all over his body. Then try to keep him alive
and stick him in solitary confinement for the rest of his life, forced to listen to Richard
Simmons self help tapes." -Aphextwin2
"As of tomorrow, employees will only be able to access the building using
individual security cards. Pictures will be taken next Wednesday and employees
will receive their cards in two weeks" -Fred Dales, from Microsoft
"That must be why we're not shipping Windows 98 yet" -Bill Gates,
after Windows 98 crashed on him during a presentation.

"'and the package also comes with a special silver-plated key chain inscribed
with Bill Gates' signature.'
Are they saying that Japanese people need to be reminded who made the XBOX?
Oh wait, it was... uh... let me look at my key chain." -regamer
"You must judge a game based on what it sets out to do. Let's say I classify Majora's Mask as a racing game. I would review that game a 1.0, because it has only one or two racing sequences. Now let me compare it to other racing games.
Gran Turismo 3 vs. Majora's Mask:
GT3 has more cars, tracks, and better physics. Majora's Mask Goron racing sequence is innovative, but lacks depth. You can only race on one track, with one type of Goron. GT3 excels in this aspect with a total of 15 tracks, and a whopping 200 or so cars to buy and sell. Gran Turismo 3 offers a lot for car enthusiasts as well with a detailed encyclopedia of all the cars. Majora's Mask offers little information about the racing history and the specs of their Gorons.
Wasn't that a great review? Next time, I'll compare Halo and Metroid Prime." -flan2dave
